Terms

Last updated 23 August 2026

This is the agreement between you and the person who makes Waffle. It is short, and it is written the way the privacy policy is written: in plain language, because an agreement nobody can read is not an agreement.

The short version

Who this agreement is with

Waffle is made by Batter, a one-person project based in San Jose, California. On this page “Waffle” means the app and this site, and “we” means that one person.

Questions, complaints, or anything that needs a human: hello@feedwaffle.com. A real person reads that address.

Using Waffle means you accept what is on this page. If you do not, the app is not for you, and deleting your account in Settings ends the arrangement.

Who can use Waffle

Your photos stay yours

You own what you post. Nothing here transfers ownership, and nothing here lets your photos be sold, advertised against, or used to train anything.

What you do give is a narrow, practical permission: to store your photos, resize them, and show them to the specific people you chose, for as long as they are on Waffle. That is the permission required to run the app, and it does not reach any further. It ends when the photo is deleted.

You also confirm you have the right to post what you post: that it is yours, and that anyone recognisable in it is content to be there.

The 24-hour rule

This is the most important thing on the page, so it gets its own section.

A pocket can be deleted for 24 hours. After that it is permanent. Not hidden, not archived. Permanent. This is enforced in the database rather than by hiding a button, which means no support request can undo it and neither can we.

Deleting your whole account is the only way to remove a photo that has set. That works, and it removes the image files rather than only the records pointing at them.

Worth saying plainly: take the 24 hours seriously. Waffle is built so that showing up is permanent, and that promise only means something if it holds in the moments you would rather it did not.

Waffles you share

A waffle can have more than one person in it. Inside a shared waffle, everyone’s photos belong to whoever posted them. You cannot save, download, or export someone else’s, and that is enforced rather than merely discouraged.

If you delete your account, your photos go with it, including the ones you added to a waffle you share. The waffle itself carries on for everyone else, with your squares gone from it.

What you agree not to do

Blocking, hiding, and reporting

You can block someone, hide a single photo, or report something. Blocking is mutual and immediate: neither of you sees the other’s photos afterwards, including inside a waffle you share, and including photos already posted.

Reports are read by a person. We can remove content or close an account that breaks the rules above, and where it is possible to say why, we will.

Price

Waffle is free. There is no paid tier and nothing to buy: you can start as many waffles as you like and add one photo a day to each of them, and joining a waffle a friend started is free too. If that ever changes, these terms will say so first, and nothing will be charged without you seeing the price and confirming it.

Made by one person

Waffle is made by one person. That means features can change or disappear, the app can break, and in the worst case data can be lost. Do not let Waffle hold the only copy of a photograph that matters to you.

Ending it

You: Settings → Delete account, any time, no reason needed.

Us: we can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other people at risk. If the account is closed for something serious the content goes with it.

What Waffle does not promise

Waffle is provided as it is. We do not promise it will always be available, always be free of bugs, or never lose data, and we do not make any guarantee beyond what the law requires us to make.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost photos or data. Nothing here removes rights you have under the law that cannot be signed away, including any consumer rights in the state where you live.

Which law applies

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute belongs in the state or federal courts of Santa Clara County, California.

Changes

If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. Anything that meaningfully affects you will be said in the app rather than quietly edited here.

Privacy

What is collected, who can see it, and how to remove it is a separate page: the privacy policy. It is worth reading; it is shorter than this one.
